About Me
Hi, I love offering spiritual direction, it is pure joy seeing upfront and personal the work of God in the lives of my directees. I have been practicing spiritual direction since 2015. I completed my program through Sustainable Faith, School of Spiritual Direction.
I work full time as a Trauma Focused Therapist with an LMSW at Valera Health. I received my masters in social work at Hunter College Silberman School of Social Work.
I am also a mom of two young girls and a wife to a loving, supportive husband. I attend and serve on the Elder Board at New Life Fellowship in Queens, NY and serve as a mentor at New Life Fellowship School of Formation program.
I received spiritual direction for myself over 15 years and continue to do so through the Cenacle Sisters and have noticed the transformation it has done in my spiritual journey.
I grew up in NYC from the age of 5, born into a family that followed Islam. I have seen the faith and sacrifice from my family and the discipline they carried through prayer. I love the ways my family has shaped me in living out a life of faith. I found Jesus as my Lord and Savior in my first year of undergrad when I entered my first church, New Life Fellowship in Queens NY. I felt the presence of God in that church and noticed a deep desire to be in that presence. I kept going to church, Sunday after Sunday and it's been over 20 years of attending. I appreciate the contemplative path the church brought which opened up the spiritual practices of centering prayer, lectio divina, prayer of examen, and eventually spiritual direction. Some of my mentors are Richard Rohr, James Finley, Pete Scazzero, Henri Nouwen, Ann Voskamp, Curt Thompson, Rich Villodas, Terry Wardle and so many others.
