About Me

I was first introduced to the idea of spiritual direction in 2018 when I enrolled in the School of Ministry at Richmont Graduate University. Upon enrolling, I felt a strong desire to pursue a two-year certificate program in Spiritual Direction. It was one of the greatest life-changing decisions that I could have ever made to enhance the betterment of my spiritual journey. I am thrilled that I had the privilege to stumble upon such an awesome ministry, a new paradigm that I was not aware of.

During my two-year training, I was exposed to various Ignatian spiritual practices that help foster the training of my ears to the art of listening, being sensitive to the voice of God. In addition, upon my spiritual training, I notice an increase in my dreams and visions, which is one channel of my communication with God. So, I have taken an interest in learning and understanding my dreams and visions. Further, more than anything, it is inspirational to have a spiritual director who will walk alongside you throughout your spiritual journey. As a result, my spiritual director has comforted and guided me in cultivating and developing my spiritual growth, which provides a wonderful and therapeutic experience.

As a spiritual director, I am enthusiastically ready to walk alongside you as you embark on your adventurous spiritual journey to grow into a deeper relationship with God. Nevertheless, God is the true guide and director. I am reminded of a quote by Ruth Barton Haley, the author of Sacred Rhythms stated, "The spiritual journey was never meant to be taken alone. It's meant to be taken in companionship with other spiritual seekers."

I reside in Georgia with my husband. In our spare time, we enjoy traveling and engaging in various outdoor activities, just enjoying the beauty of God's creation.

So, what is Spiritual Direction?

Another phrase for spiritual direction is spiritual accompaniment, or spiritual friendship. What I love about spiritual direction, is that it allows us to open up our lives to another soul, who bears witness to our story, our past, present and future as it progresses in real time, seeing where the Lord is, and where the Spirit is leading.
As a recipient of spiritual direction, I have been blessed to have another person to listen to the movements of my heart and have a sacred space to say what is usually left unsaid in everyday life.

As a spiritual director, I have been so honored to walk alongside my directees and hold their stories, observing and noticing with them the Spirit's movements, celebrating their wins and holding their sorrows. If we look close enough, we can see that the Lord is with us not just on the mountaintop, but in our "plain" ordinary lives. The question is, are we looking for Him?

As your spiritual director, I come alongside you to look, see, and feel where the Lord is in your life, and where the Spirit is guiding us to look.

About Me:
I grew up in the Bible belt, in a protestant denomination that emphasized missions and evangelism. While this spirituality emphasized truth and saving the lost, the feeling heart was easily missed easily, especially as I witnessed the brokenness in my own family and wasn't allowed to say or express anything negative. Receiving spiritual direction in graduate school changed everything for me, as I had space to speak freely and truthfully for the first time and be myself, it was like the cork had finally been yanked loose and I learned that not only that God heard my inner thoughts and feelings, but cared about them and felt sorrow with me.

I spent my undergraduate years at Sarah Lawrence College in New York, in a suburb thirty minutes outside of Manhattan. At Sarah Lawrence I was enlivened by my literature and anthropology courses, as well as poetry, painting and dance. After Sarah Lawrence, I moved to Brooklyn, New York, to pursue my M.Div in Theology from Talbot School of Theology. In 2024, I finished my spiritual direction training from Talbot, earning an MA in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care.

Linda Madeksho has been involved in career para-church ministry for almost 40 years. Much of that work was in the field of social justice and crisis intervention pioneering where she counseled individuals, organizations and facilitated groups in both the secular and religious communities. She has worked primarily in Texas and southern Africa.
During that time, she found that many who have been in the church family for years, whether staff, lay leader or congregant, often reach a point in their spiritual journey where they feel unfulfilled. They may not be in crisis but find they are seeking something that seems just out of reach. Traditional Christian counseling, discipleship programs, Bible studies or life coaching do not seem to be the whole answer.
Linda retired from full-time ministry in 2012 and began her own personal journey toward spiritual transformation through various disciplines available in the field. She believes that this formation journey has been the most rewarding adventure she has been on in her long and varied career whether in the local, national or in the international community. She states that it is second only to accepting Jesus as her Savior.

My passion is to companion with others on their journey to a deepening love relationship with the triune God. Just as I have found a deep peace as Abba’s beloved child through contemplative spiritual direction, I also desire to come alongside others as they discover His personal offer of overflowing hope (Romans 15:13).

I first encountered contemplative practices over 25 years ago. God’s Presence and guidance through the contemplative life have provided a firm foundation to my roles in the corporate world, in ministry, and as a wife to my husband Dave.

I have been in vocational ministry since 2000, living and serving internationally in a variety of roles and settings. Now based in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, I offer spiritual direction to cross-cultural workers around the world as well as to the local Christian community.

I hold a Certificate in Spiritual Direction from Selah (Leadership Transformations). My academic training includes an MA in Pastoral Counseling and Spiritual Formation and a Doctor of Ministry in Member Care, both from Columbia International University. I began my professional career as an optometrist before being called to serve overseas as an international public health and development consultant.

Being in Spiritual Direction for over 20 years has been one of the most transformative experiences in my life, both with my relationship with God as well as others. In 2011, together with my Spiritual Director and others close to me, I was led to discern a vocation as a Spiritual Director myself. In 2017, I completed my graduate Certification in Spiritual Direction through Neumann University in Aston, Pennsylvania. In 2021, I completed an additional Certificate from the Lanteri Center for Ignatian Spirituality. To extend and support growing spiritual directors, I was led to complete formation as a spiritual direction supervisor.

It has been a privilege to offer Spiritual Direction and Contemplative Retreats within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and extending to the Mid-North Atlantic Regions.

Later In 2017, with the support of many, I was blessed to have founded Peak Encounter Ministries, a non-profit, Christian organization under the approval of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). Beginning with radical hospitality, we offer outdoor adventure and contemplative retreats integrating Scripture, prayer, and fellowship in the beauty of God's creation. Since we began, the Lord has led amazingly talented and generous leaders to answer the call to serve on our team! So far, we have held over 45 retreats, positively impacting over 350 young adults. The ministry looks forward to continued growth and aims to be a point of engagement, connecting or reconnecting retreatants back to Christ within their local Christian communities in a real, relational, and relevant way.

Welcome Friend, my name is Jen Manglos. There are many ways I could describe myself, but I like to start with the truest part - I am God’s beloved. And as a spiritual director, supervisor, pastor, and writer, I delight in helping others discover their own belovedness in God.

I graduated from the Institute for Spiritual Formation at Talbot Theological Seminary in May 2010. During my time there I received training in spiritual direction and discovered the profound gift of creating space for another to be listened to and to notice God’s invitations in life. I currently offer individual and group direction, as well as individual and group supervision and pilgrimage coaching, and am available to speak at retreats and conferences. Embodiment, hospitality, and storytelling characterize my approach, as well as pilgrimage, having completed the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage through Spain in 2018. I am available to meet in-person in Seattle or online.

I formerly coordinated retreats for Saddleback Church’s Rancho Capistrano property before moving to Seattle, Washington in 2019 for a pastoral role with Bethany Community Church (finished role in 2021). One day, I hope to open my own retreat house to care for pastors and church leaders, inviting them into “unforced rhythms of grace” with God. Athanasius says, "The Risen Christ makes life a perpetual feast," and I thoroughly enjoy this feast of a life through steaming cups of coffee, walks and hikes through the PNW, sharing meals with dear friends, and discovering new films, books, musicals, and podcasts. I am an ordained Anglican priest and former missionary lecturer. A graduate of the Sursum Corda Spiritual Director's Training Program, I have been active in Spiritual Direction for 25 years. My belief about direction is that it should involve a patient and attentive listening to three things: God's Word and activity, the Great Tradition of the Church, and the unique story and context of a person’s life. Although I am passionately ecumenical, my personal commitments are to a Liturgical/Sacramental worldview and Christocentrism, with a decidedly Benedictine emphasis.

I have a particular passion for helping people with developing a Rule of Life and a workable set of spiritual practices. It is an honor for me to companion and hold space with others in their walk with God. Spiritual Direction is a sacred space to slow down, listen and perceive the workings and voice of God in one's life.

My journey with Spiritual Direction started 11 years ago when my mentor became a Spiritual Director and introduced me to the contemplative life style. I learned to slow down and pay more attention to the movings of the Holy Spirit at work in my life. I was hungry to meet with God in more intimate ways and was drawn to practicing silent retreats, sabbath rest, and spiritual direction.

Since I've been in full time urban ministry for over 17 years in Chicago I know how stress, demands, and crises of life can drain and overwhelm us. This is why I'm so passionate about creating space for others to tend to their soul and to learn the unhurried rhythms of grace that Christ offers us.

In particular I have a heart for those in missions or full time ministry to learn how to slow and listen to the voice of God. As well as those who have experienced loss or church hurt to be able to heal from their grief.

In my free time I love doing Zumba, eating different ethnic foods, and spending time playing outdoors with my husband.

Whether you would like to meet in-person or online I would love to be a listening presence as you walk in your own spiritual journey! I desire to create a safe space where people feel free to share what's on their hearts and minds as we discern where God is at work. I offer free consultations so feel free to reach out.

My experience has mostly been with college and graduate students at Biola University where I completed my Spiritual Direction training and supervision at the Institute of Spiritual Formation in 2017. I've since moved to the Miami area and offer spiritual direction to ladies in leadership at much church and ready to take on more individual directees again in this season of my ministry (virtual or in person).

My desire is to walk alongside those who want to better understand the hard places they have found themselves in life or within their walks with Jesus. I have experience working in various kinds of church ministries outside of spiritual direction including hospitality, children's ministry, high school ministry and leading adult small groups. I have come to notice that in each ministry setting I've been drawn to hearing people's stories and understanding their journeys with God through the joyful and sorrowful times. It is an honor to be with people in their places of grief, sorrow and pain just as much as it is to walk alongside those who are in a lighter time of life or celebrating what God is doing.

I am very drawn to those "cradle Christians" or long time believers who have grown up in the church and are finding themselves having questions about their belief in God, maybe for the first time. My longing is to grow in deeper intimacy with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and to walk alongside others, encouraging them to see how the Trinity is present in all of life. After retiring from a career in education, I completed my training for spiritual direction through Christos Center (in 2020). Since then I have been practicing spiritual direction. I am particularly passionate about Ignatian Spirituality and have offered The Ignatian Spiritual Exercises in retreat, group and individual formats.

My husband Peter and I have been married since 1980 and have three grown children and ten grandchildren. Our broader family includes adopted children as well as a blended family. I enjoy learning, the arts, the outdoors and gathering small groups of people in creative ways that allow them to connect at deeper levels.

Years ago while living in France, God used the Ignatian Exercises to transform my heart and life in ways I hadn’t realized were possible. With that transformation he also gave me a passion for walking alongside others in the journey of transformation. I completed my spiritual direction training, ISCAS, through a French organization, Compagnons de Route. After living in France for 17 years, our family moved to Nashville. About Me

Friendship with Jesus is the greatest gift of my life, and walking alongside others in their spiritual journey is another of life’s great gifts, including practicing spiritual direction! Spiritual direction is a form of spiritual friendship or companionship. It is conversations between two folks, where we can seek the presence and work of God together. In direction, I seek to create a safe, sacred space for us to tell stories of God, His love, and life experiences. This often includes Scripture, prayer, silence, spiritual practices, and curiosity about God, and his work and presence in your life.

I’ve lived in Colorado for 20 years, a great place to enjoy hiking, biking, and creation beauty! I’m married to Charlie, and we love sharing life with our adult kids and 5 grandkids. We currently worship at an Anglican church, but have worshiped in many Christian traditions over the years. I serve as a spiritual director in different arenas: for individuals, groups, and with folks living on the margins of poverty in our city. I also accompany people through the Ignatian Exercises, a very unique and intimate year long journey with God.

I received a Certificate of Spiritual Direction from the Benet Hill Monastery in 2014, and completed training from the Larry Crabb School of Spiritual Direction later that year. I also grew greatly in the Renovare Institute, and have completed training for soul care with people on the margins, and in Ignatian spirituality. I meet for hour-long spiritual direction sessions in person and via Zoom or Facetime. Please contact me by email or phone if you would like to explore spiritual direction.

About Me

My journey toward the ministry of spiritual direction followed an unexpected path. I am a professional vocal accompanist, choir director, and a former pastor of music ministries at Christian & Missionary Alliance churches in Toronto and Vancouver. While focusing my attention on music for over thirty years, I developed a growing passion for mentoring and discipleship ministries. God led me to explore these passions by participating in the discipleship program offered by Journey Canada. A few years later, I obtained a Certificate in Spiritual Direction from the Emmaus Formation Centre. I am now practicing my accompanist’s skills of concentrated listening and perceptivity by companioning with men who desire spiritual direction. As we meet together in the presence of the Holy Spirit, we seek to hear the voice of God and discern how He is at work in the directee’s life. My perspective is trinitarian and steadfastly Christ-centered, and I rely on the unified witness of scripture, church tradition, reason, and experience in my discernment process. My primary interest is focused on those who are impacted by LGBTQ issues, but I am willing to meet with anyone who desires to grow in his relationship with Jesus.
