Joe served with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship for forty-four years. He held various leadership roles including National Co-director of Spiritual Formation and Prayer.

Joe has completed two Certificates in Spiritual Formation, the first from Columbia Theological Seminary and the other from the Renovare’ Institute. The Renovare’ program offered Joe the opportunity to spend several weeks with Dallas Willard, as well as other leaders in Spiritual Formation in the evangelical community.

Joe has also received his Certificate in Spiritual Direction from Sustainable Faith. Joe has offered spiritual direction for the past seventeen years. His passion and interest in both retreats and spiritual direction has always been around the ways in which people are spiritually formed and grow increasingly into the image of Christ.

While working with InterVarsity, Joe led multiple spiritual formation retreats, on both national and regional levels. Additionally, he oversaw several cohorts of a two-year spiritual formation program for leaders in the organization. These retreats helped over one hundred ministry leaders deepen their soul lives and relationships with God.

I am trained and certified as a Spiritual Director. It is both my calling and joy to companion others as they journey deeper with God. By taking time to make sacred space to connect deeply with God we grow in faith. The journey of faith is not always a straight path and there are many times we don’t feel God’s presence or sense His will for us. I am here to listen well to you and the Holy Spirit and together we will find the God who promises to be found.

As a professional artist for 30+ years, my love for art blends beautifully with my practice and I often use Visio Divina and other creative exercises in my sessions. I find that the arts help us connect our soul deeply to God because God is the creator and lover of our soul! As Imago Dei we are image bearers-made in the image of God, therefore we have great capacity for connecting creatively with God, whether by viewing or creating. Art goes beyond words and helps us experience God in rich ways.

In addition to individual direction, I offer group Spiritual Direction, Contemplative Life retreats, as well as the Contemplative Art Workshops and retreats. I am also certified to accompany others in the 9 month prayer journey with the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius.

Jessica tripped over spiritual direction while studying for a master's degree in theological studies, and fell in love with the practice immediately! She has been providing spiritual direction for individuals and groups via in-person meetings, as well as online and phone since 2019. I look forward to inviting you to that table we would set together with the Lord. Trained in Spiritual Direction at Southern Methodist University in Dallas graduating April 2017. Leader in marriage-help course at Community Bible Church. My husband and I also work within Christian Medical & Dental Association with married/engaged medical and dental student couples. Have lead and mentored small Bible studies groups. Conducted recovery abuse groups for women. Have been active in past as Associate staff with Navigators. A Registered Nurse worked in Women's Health, acute mental health, and pediatrics. Currently volunteer in a faith based sexual health clinic. Love the privilege of grand-mothering and hiking with a group of ladies called "Desert Mothers! I began full-time vocational ministry in 1979. In that time, I have served as an associate pastor in three different congregations in Texas and Arizona including eight years as a senior pastor. I completed a Masters of Ministry Certificate at St. Stephens University, St. Stephens, New Brunswick. In January of 2014, I published my first book, Darkness to Light, an account of my journey into clinical depression and my subsequent encounter with the love of God which brought a deep and lasting emotional healing. What is God up to in your life today? Where are you hearing, experiencing the Divine? How is your practice giving you life? Perhaps you're experiencing what Richard Rohr calls "second-half-of-life" spiritual questions? In which what sustained you all these years just isn't enough anymore?

As a spiritual director, I companion with you on your journey and relationship with God. I am not there to tell you what to do. I may, with prayerful discernment, offer perspectives and suggested practices. Together, we notice, name, and respond to the presence of God in your daily life. My primary role is to listen for the Spirit's movements in your life, and then–with you—jointly discern the experience. The Spirit is truly the director here!

I am an ELCA Lutheran pastor, currently ministering with Richfield Lutheran Church in south Minneapolis MN. Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degrees were through Luther Seminary, St Paul MN. Spiritual director training was through Christos Center for Spiritual Formation, Lino Lakes MN. In addition, I completed the Spiritual Formation for Congregational Leadership program and the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises through Christos. My training to direct the Extended Ignatian Exercises was through Sacred Ground Center for Spirituality, St Paul MN. I'm currently a facilitator in Christos' spiritual director training program. I've been in spiritual direction since 2001.

Practices I've found helpful to growing in union with God include Lectio Divina, Examen, the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises, Centering Prayer, haiku, and zazen. I am a Benedictine oblate (OblSB) associated with St John's Abbey. I am conversant in Benedictine, Carmelite, Ignatian, Taoist, and Zen spiritualities and practices. Always mindful that contemplation isn't something we "do" as much as it is a way of life, a way of seeing.

As well as individual spiritual direction, I also direct the extended Ignatian Spiritual Exercises.

Before pastoring, I served in the Air Force, taught college, and worked as a research economist. I also am a Family Systems Theory facilitator, working with congregations, congregational leaders, and individuals. This "hat" curiously complements spiritual direction well.

I presently practice direction with both laity and clergy.

Our first meeting is pro bono. This is a time for us to get to know each other better, to explore what spiritual direction is and isn't, and get a feel for the journey ahead.

As a farmer's daughter and avid gardener, I have always loved experiencing the cycle of planting, growth, pruning and harvest, and then starting the next season. Whether this is in my garden or in the practice of spiritual direction, I have been blessed to see God's faithfulness through all seasons. My own spiritual journey with its twists and turns includes the seasons of doubt, struggle, longing, and grief over loss and then those wonderful and loving seasons of joy and fulfillment. In all these seasons of life, God has called me to help others toward spiritual freedom in Christ (2 Cor. 2:17) and to live blessedly in "joy and grief intertwined" (Isaiah 61:3).

My personal journey includes over 20 years in a corporate business career in the consumer food industry as well as an unexpected transition to ministry in my local church and a global ministry. I went from food for the tummy to food for the soul as I completed a MA in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care at the Institute of Spiritual Formation, Talbot Seminary/Biola University. I continue to serve as a spiritual director at Biola's Center for Spiritual Renewal. In Fall 2021, I published a true story, The Kindness of Color: the story of two families and Mendez, et al. v. Westminster, the 1947 Desegregation of California Public Schools. It is the 1940s/WWII story of two kinds of racism and the kindness that brought hope: my family's journey from freedom to incarceration camps and the racism of segregated schools in California. This writing/publishing journey has shown me God's leading in new and exciting ways in yet another season of life.

I am a graduate of the C. John Weborg Center for Spiritual Direction at North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago and have been directing since 2009.

With over 34 years of pastoral experience, I enjoy working with pastors and other church leaders. Nothing would give me greater joy than to help you to follow Christ. My work in spiritual formation dates back to when the term itself was being introduced into the evangelical church. During the 90's I worked with seminary students at the Center for Christian Leadership at Dallas Theological Seminary. At the same time I earned a certificate of spiritual direction at Saint Thomas Theological Seminary in Denver under the tutelage of Howard Baker. I continued to practice the principles of people formation while the director of a leadership school in Albania. Perhaps it is helpful for you to know that God is helping me become more like Jesus in the crucible of a chronic and progressive neurological disease. Otherwise, I am employed full-time in various foreign projects.

I’ve had too much education: animal science at Cornell, international affairs at the Fletcher school/Tufts university, THM at DTS, and Doctor of ministry at DTS in cross cultural leadership.

My heart and passion is to create a safe space for men and women to experience a deep, abiding, transformational intimacy with God.

I have been serving in roles of shepherding, mentoring, intercessory prayer and spiritual direction for over thirty years. It was through my own journey with a spiritual director that I experienced God’s invitation to walk alongside others in the same way. I earned a Master of Arts in Theological Studies with a focus in Marriage and Family Therapy from Bethel Seminary in Saint Paul, MN. And I completed my certification for spiritual direction at Christos Center for Spiritual Formation in Lino Lakes, MN.

I have experience in many forms of contemplative prayer, including Lectio Divina, centering prayer, the Prayer of Examen and the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises. As a spiritual director, guide, and companion it has been such a joy and honor to walk alongside others listening, noticing and witnessing the ways God is present, speaking and moving in their lives. After having lived in Japan for 30 years as a missionary, I am now based in the U.S. Besides teaching ESL and Japanese classes, I currently serve as Chaplain of the Webber Institute for Worship Studies (IWS), a low-residency school based in FL; Spiritual Director for Accessible Hope International based in FL and Sierra Leone, West Africa; and a Global Trainer in Spiritual Formation and Worship Renewal through Faith and Learning Int'l. I have a doctorate in worship studies from IWS and advanced certificates in Spiritual Formation and Spiritual Direction from Moody Bible Institute. I have led and spoken at retreats in various countries and contexts.

I am an ordained Anglican priest and find great joy serving the people in my church, All Souls, in Indianapolis.

My own hunger and pursuit of the manifest presence of God has taken me on the inward adventure of solitude in the quiet of monastaries, and on geographical adventures as far away as Ethiopia, South Korea, and China — all of which draw me home to God in my own backyard. I am an active follower and friend of Jesus in all the roles of my life, which include but are not limited to being a wife, mother, grandmother, spiritual director, and CFO of a Professional Corporation.

A certified Spiritual Director and Supervisor with a Master of Arts degree in Christian Education, I earned my Certificate in Spiritual Formation from the Renovare Institute. I am an instructor/collaborator at Portland Seminary (George Fox Evangelical Seminary) and with Fuller Seminary's Doctor of Ministry Degree in Spiritual Direction.

About Me

Hi, I'm Bronwen. I've been in direction myself for 15 years and have found it to be a bedrock of my spiritual journey. I'm grateful to be able to offer it to others. My training is through CFDM, and I am happy to meet in person or online. I am from Washington DC originally and live in Southern California.

Since everyone defines this a little differently, I will tell you my sense of direction. Counter to its name, a spiritual director is more of a companion on the spiritual journey rather than a coach or director. Directees and I meet once a month to listen and explore together where God is moving and at work. My job is primarily listening, reflecting, and asking. The directee's job is simply wanting to grow and being willing to explore. (And God's job is the rest).

About Me

Opening oneself to receive the loving presence of God in the “what is” of life is where inner transformation happens. It is my joy to offer a sacred, safe space for you to listen deeply to yourself and for the voice of the One who is love.

For 23 years, I lived and loved in a place called Kijabe, Kenya. There I raised 5 children, supported the work of my physician husband, and was gifted with deep friendships. At the same time, I felt the tension and stresses of ministry, living in a low resource setting, daily struggling with what was the “right thing to do” and often wondering if I was doing enough or even was enough in light of the vast needs around us. I was involved in prayer ministry, Bible Studies, orphan work, and community outreach. My own personal time in scripture and prayer was rich and life giving. And yet, there was a disconnect in my personal life that I couldn’t understand. God used pain and learning to sit quietly in a new way to draw me to God’s very specific, tender compassion for me, just as I was.

I completed my training as a spiritual director through CenterQuest School of Spiritual Direction. I look forward to welcoming any who desire more intimacy with God through the Holy Spirit. I am available to meet via Zoom or in person for those in Nashville, TN where I live now.
