In 2013 Rick retired from 20 years of pastoring and church planting. He discovered the art of Spiritual Direction and took a 2-year certificate program that he completed in 2015. Rick and his wife Chris were married for 50 years. Chris passed away in April 2020. Together they have two children and have 5 grandchildren. During Spiritual Director training Rick started on a personal contemplative life path. Practicing contemplative exercise and doing extensive inner work.

Rick’s two specialties in his Spiritual Direction practice are; 1. Helping others learn how to discern what God is doing in their life today. 2. Helping couples grow in their acceptance, appreciation, intimacy, and joy in their relationship with each other through the use of the enneagram. The first session is always complementary.

My Story:
My journey with God began 35 years ago as a young adult searching for purpose and significance. My encounter with Jesus during my college years changed my trajectory to a joy-filled life of hungering for more of Him. I finished my college education with an undergraduate degree in Biblical studies and youth ministry while serving at my local home church. A few years after graduating, I married my husband, Brian, and we began our family. God blessed us with three children who are now full-grown adults. Through the years, God has graciously given me many opportunities to serve and mentor women in spiritual formation. I’ve served on staff with multiple churches where I mentored, trained and lead congregants in various ministries. I currently serve as the Operations/U.S. Director in an international ministry that focuses on women’s spiritual growth. In 2023, I received my certificate in Spiritual Direction through Listening to Life, Kairos University, Sioux Falls, SD. My ministry experience includes discipleship, evangelism, teaching and leading groups, leadership development and missions.
It's a joy to invite others into a safe place to explore, engage and embrace their own spiritual journey with Jesus. With the Holy Spirit’s guidance, we will walk together towards deeper discovery, wisdom, discernment, and encouragement. Currently I'm not receiving new directees.
I am a lover of beauty, as experienced in the various seasons of my life as a graphic artist, watercolor artist, musician, and all-around-“creative”. I enjoy cooking (especially with others!), fine dining, hiking, adventure and travel. I’ve been involved in ministry in eastern Asia and lived in Alaska, Eastern Europe, and Scandinavia. But most importantly, I am passionate about journeying alongside others in our mutual discovery of our Belovedness in the heart of God. The first time I received spiritual direction I didn’t even know there was such a thing, and I balked at the term “direction”. But I found it, more than any other prayer ministry or counseling I’d received in the past, to be respectful of my own heart’s ability to hear God. And thus began the great adventure!

I've just embarked on my 70's, and have been married to the love of my life for over half of those years. We raised our two children in Alaska, and enjoy six beautiful grand children. Now we live on the Front Range of the Rockies in Colorado Springs, where we drink in plenty of sunshine! My husband and I love to practice hospitality in our home, and so the idea that there is a spacious hospitality offered to us in the presence of God is near to my heart. As such, I see spiritual direction as a holy invitation extended by God, inviting us to a spacious time and place in our hearts and souls.

I offer retreats, designed to be reflective and restful, in my home, on Zoom, or wherever in the world I’m invited. (I especially enjoy collaborating with other spiritual directors.) Some retreats are creative, playful, yet thoughtful.

I would consider it a sacred honor and privilege to journey along with you, wherever you are in your spiritual journey. Perhaps you have been experiencing a fresh hunger for God. Perhaps you are seeking discernment as you head into life-direction decisions, or you desire a spiritual companion to help you stay on track with God in the day-to-day stresses of life. Whatever your situation, choosing to enter into a relationship of spiritual direction can be life-giving.

I have completed a 2-year certificate program of spiritual direction through Leadership Transformations, Inc. SELAH. Completing this program has served to solidify the love I feel for this calling. I have also received certificates to coach the Enneagram and I offer the Ignatian Exercises, a 9-month "retreat in everyday life".

I was born and raised in Seattle, WA, and have lived in Los Angeles, CA for most of my adult life. I am a wife and mother to two teenage boys and have devoted the last 17 years to raising them. My eldest son is autistic and homeschooled and his way of moving in the world has deeply informed my spiritual journey. Yoga, meditation, therapy, centering prayer, silent retreats, collage, painting, beachcombing, and hiking are pathways that have further helped guide me in this journey. As a Spiritual Director, I seek to serve as a companion, offering another set of ears to listen for God’s moving in someone's heart and soul. I hope to walk with others in their spiritual journey as they seek the Holy mystery and yearn to live more deeply and meaningfully in the midst of the joys and sorrows encountered along the way. I will sometimes use creativity (collage, poetry, painting, art journaling) and movement to access what feels inaccessible or unknowable within us, seeking to hear what, where, and how the Holy Spirit is prompting.

I received a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Washington (Seattle, Wa), studied Interior Design at UCLA Extension (Los Angeles, CA), studied Mindfulness with Mindful Schools, and completed Spiritual Direction training with Nuos Formation (San Francisco, CA).

I first heard about Spiritual Direction at Covenant Theological Seminary where I was studying to get a Masters of Divinity and a Masters in Educational Ministries. After ten years of serving in campus ministry my heart craved this kind of space and I dove right in, first meeting with my own director, then seeking out certification to start my own practice. I love hospitality and see Spiritual Direction as a way to host. You may not know what to bring, why exactly you are evening reaching out, but all you have to do is respond to God's invitation to come and meet with him. I enjoy cultivating space for people to do just that. Because of my own journey of growing up overseas as a missionary kid and time serving in campus ministry I have a passion for serving people in ministry both overseas and stateside.

I also have a passion for experiencing God through art and love creating space for others to do the same. Part of my spiritual direction practice is hosting Art Encounters with a friend. We create space to observe a piece of art (paintings for now), make meaning, and then we go into a guided time that is similar to Visio Divina, all over delicious food and in a beautiful space! It has been a joy to see artsy people all the way to people who have no idea what to do with art, discover that Jesus can use art to shape us spiritually and connect with us.

I find great joy in walking with others who seek to notice and respond to the call of Jesus toward life and wholeness. We experience joys and sorrows, growth and diminishment, light and darkness… and the Three-in-One God calls us, woos us, and teaches us through all of these. I am a teacher and an encourager; I’m passionate about loving relationship with God, vulnerability and service with other followers of Christ, and winsome engagement with those who do not yet know the One who draws them. Also, I have walked through deep valleys (loved ones suffering mental and physical illness and cognitive decline; a difficult marriage; the deaths of dear friends and family members), so can empathize with others who suffer, being with them in the light of grace and truth until we emerge offering wisdom and compassion for others.

I’ve offered spiritual direction since 1998, and have been supervising directors since 2009. I love meeting new people for prayer and discernment about working together. I earned a master’s degree in theology from Evangelical Seminary and a Ph.D. in Christian spirituality from The Catholic University of America. As one of the professors at Kairos University, I've taught theology, spiritual formation, and spiritual direction, and have also taught/supervised beginning spiritual directors through the (former) Kairos School of Spiritual Formation (in Lancaster, PA) and at Kairos University's Listening People to Life program. I’ve served in staff and pastoral positions in independent churches and Mennonite churches (I am ordained to ministry by Lancaster Mennonite Conference), and spent years as a piano teacher and worship leader. I offer retreats and workshops on prayer and other spiritual practices, trauma and healing, stress and resilience, and other topics. I practice direction in Lancaster and Myerstown, PA, as well as via phone, Zoom, and other platforms.

Hello friend!

I studied at Biola University and was trained in Spiritual Direction at the Insitute for Spiritual Formation at Talbot Seminary. I work as a Youth Director in Escondido, CA, and as an adjust professor at the Insitute for Spiritual Formation.

A huge focus for me is providing a place for people to be heard, understood, and loved. To that end, I believe any part of life is appropriate for Spiritual Direction. God can be present in times of worship, doing the dishes, and even an argument with a spouse or close friend.

I’m a life-long adventurer whose passion is journeying alongside Christian leaders as they deepen their communion with God—exploring together their identity in Christ, and helping them to enjoy and live out all that God has designed and called them to be.

Having served in full-time vocational ministry since 1977, I currently live in Budapest, Hungary, serving as a Spiritual Director with Ministry Essentials, International. I sensed God calling me to the work of spiritual direction several years ago as a point in my own formational growth from the pastoral care and worship development that had previously been my ministry focus.

I received my training through Sustainable Faith’s School of Spiritual Direction. My ministry today is centered around spiritual direction, formational leader development, and pastoral care for global workers.

My greatest adventure has been marriage to Karen since 1977, and enjoying our two adult children, lovely daughter-in-law, and two awesome grandsons.

I have been teaching, shepherding and mentoring believers and seekers for almost 30 years, in a variety of contexts: College ministry, women’s ministry, in the Nonprofit world with underserved children and their families, and now the elderly, sick, and dying.

I have a Masters in Christian Spiritual Direction and Leadership from Friends University (May 2022), and received my training and certification as a Spiritual Director through Portland Seminary (April 2024).

In addition to being a Certified Spiritual Director, I am currently a Hospice Chaplain, a writer and retreat speaker, and a wife and mother. A Texas girl originally, I have happily called Lincoln, NE home since 2005.

Most of us are in the midst of our stories, and I've stopped telling mine as if everything is wrapped up with a bow. My journey has provided me with a profound understanding of resilience and the joy of walking alongside individuals as they discover God's presence in every aspect of their lives.

I completed a two-year program in Spiritual Direction through The Sustainable Faith School of Spiritual Direction, which, combined with my extensive experience in listening to and praying with pastors, has refined my compassionate and attentive approach.

Recently, I have felt a special calling to support those experiencing a season of deconstruction in their faith journey. My aim is to create a safe and nurturing space for you to explore your spiritual questions and struggles.

I have been married to my college sweetheart for nearly 45 years. We have four adult children and seven grandchildren. My sweetheart and I enjoy spending time with the family. We love going to the beach and boardwalk, which is within a few miles of my home. I personally enjoy listening to live music and recreational reading.

Spiritual direction is an anchor when life feels unmoored. Being able to listen to God alongside another offers comfort, hope, and a way forward. I am particularly seasoned at co-laboring with leaders in the church who bear the weight and scars of ministry. Creating spaces of silence, solitude and rest allows the soul to heal. I am honored to join you on such a journey. I am a Pediatric Hospital Chaplain and an ordained Deacon in the Anglican Church of North America who has offered spiritual direction for eight years. My passion is walking with people through the dark seasons when things feel unclear or challenging. These "wilderness moments" are painful and precious. About Me

As a spiritual director of women, I seek to find God in all things and serve as a witness to the things He is doing in the lives of my sisters in Christ. After 5 years on the mission field in Mexico City, God led me to pursue training as a spiritual director. I graduated with an MA in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care from the Institute for Spiritual Formation, Talbot Seminary, in December 2018. After serving as a staff spiritual director with Biola University, I have now moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to work with a non-for-profit ministry dedicated to encouraging women in difficult life circumstances.

My heart’s desire is to provide spiritual direction in particular, to women who are seeking to grow in their identity in Christ and notice His movement in their life and circumstances. Since journeying with Jesus in other cultures is an integral part of who God has created me to be, I delight in giving direction to those in intercultural situations and those serving on the mission field.
