ESDA Membership

ESDA is a trusted resource for pastors, leaders, and lay persons. As such, ESDA maintains high standards for membership in our spiritual director network. ESDA spiritual directors ascribe to our doctrinal statement and code of ethics, and have completed formal training in the art of spiritual direction.

Types of Membership


Spiritual Director

Spiritual Directors are full members in ESDA. They are publicly listed for discovery on ESDA’s interactive map and search page. To qualify as a spiritual director, members must agree to abide by our doctrinal statement and code of ethics, as well as have completed an educational program that meets our training requirements.

Student Membership

For those enrolled in formal spiritual direction training

ESDA offers complimentary membership to those engaged in a recognized formal spiritual direction training program. 

WHY JOIN?

The Student Membership provides access to an active community of spiritual directors, along with a host of professional resources. In addition, engagement in the ESDA community provides a rich enhancement to the learning process.
