How does God use our jobs to form us? What might we need to be aware of as spiritual directors as we listen to our directees talk about their work?

These are the questions we will be exploring with our guest Julie Barrios. In our time together we will discuss common temptations and invitations that emerge in the workplace. Our themes will include how our work can invade personal identity, and how issues of scarcity and abundance and interpersonal conflicts with co-workers can invite us to journey with God.

This three-hour event will include a presentation, a personal project, time to share and learn from one another in a small group, and Q&A with Julie.

About our Presenter

Julie has served a number of churches and non-profits as a spiritual director. She brings expertise in spiritual formation and the intersections of spirituality, technology, art and organizational health. She has a wide variety of direction experience, having worked with teenagers, seminary students, professors, pastors, missionaries, business leaders, trauma survivors, and many other souls longing for intimacy with God.

Julie received her MA in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care at Talbot School of Theology in 2005, and completed the Ignatian Spiritual Formation Program at the Loyola Institute for Spirituality in 2009.
